The SWWA 8th annual Woodworker’s Challenge had 33 projects entered, with 22 members entering projects. One member entered 4 projects, 3 entered 3, and 2 entered 2. Another great group of projects were shown in all six categories – furniture, accessories, scrolled projects, turned projects, toys, and what-not!! Thanks to everyone who participated.
Furniture – 6 entries – 1st place to Ron Kimball with walnut, Sam Maloof-inspired, rocking chair and stool
Accessories – 5 entries – 1st place to Jason Wrench for his walnut & curly maple jewelry box
Turned Projects – 7 entries – 1st place to Jim Yonkers for his redwood and horn lidded pine turning
Scrolled Projects – 2 entries – 1st place to Barbara Raymond-LaPrease for her Bolivian rosewood Blois goblet
Toys – 6 entries – 1st place to Wilbur Chatterton for his cherry, walnut, & ash lowboy and excavator
What-Not – 7 entries – 1st place to Jerry Higby for his maple mandolin
