Woodworking – Cabinet Doors

I built these cabinet doors to replace two doors on a standard store-bought cabinet that we use as a bathroom storage cabinet, during our bathroom renovation. This is an easy woodworking project.

Here are the ugly cabinet doors before I removed them. They are nothing more than MDF with formica cover.

Here are the 2 doors I built with 3/4″ pine and 1/4″ plywood panel.

The top of the cabinet needed something to make it look more like a piece of furniture than just cabinet doors on a wall. So I chose a combination of wood carvings to add the finishing touch. See wood carvings from Rockler.

Here’s the top piece with stained carvings before attaching to cabinet.

Here’s a look at the finished project. I used red mahogany stain and polyurethane topcoat.
